Clock PolicyThe Viking Classic is a CLOCKS PREFERRED tournament (unless otherwise indicated) and we prefer that you use clocks! This isn't because we want to stress anyone out, but rather to keep the focus on playing and provide a maximum amount of time a match can last helping keep the tournament running smoothly.
Clock Defaults - 2 minutes per match point, 3 minutes for newcomers and doubles events. Delay - Open players: 12 seconds, Advanced: 15 seconds, Intermediate, 15 seconds with Overtime Variant, Newcomer: 15 seconds, Overtime Variant, Doubles: 15 seconds In mixed skill events, the most generous delay setting may be used. Intermediate division players are granted an Overtime Variant, meaning they will receive 1 additional minute after an initial clock expiration. Newcomer division players are not normally expected to play with a clock. We encourage all players to gain experience playing on a clock! The more you try it, the more comfortable you will be. |
